Jennifer Ryan

I lived on the farming lands of the north-west and central west of NSW for most of my adult life. After completing a degree in Veterinary Medicine at Sydney University, I moved to NSW and worked, raised my children and had a wonderful life on the land.

I was always interested in drawing and painting I got serious once my children went off to boarding school and could quite easily spend everyday painting now. The everyday things around me - I am a bit of a bower bird when it comes to some things - and the fascinating patterns and colours in both domestic and native birds and animals are my main inspiration. I now reside in Kununurra, an excellent location for the enthusiastic bird watcher. I am also interested in the interactions between people and the natural world.

 And I do like to bring a smile to people’s faces.
